Enerquality, a leading certifier of energy efficient housing in Canada, faced operational challenges due to a disconnected, manual process for enrolling builders into their programs and managing associated billing. Their accounting system and enrollment processes operated in isolation, creating inefficiencies and increasing the potential for errors. This lack of integration also hindered their ability to retrieve enrollment and billing data for reporting purposes.

Solution

Ollon designed and developed a custom web based application to integrate builder enrollments with the accounting system. This solution provided a seamless connection between enrollment records and billing processes, enabling automated, accurate tracking and streamlined reporting. Built with JavaScript, MySQL, and hosted on AWS, the application centralized and simplified critical operations.

Ollon designed and built a custom web application from scratch that gave builders and staff a single place to manage enrollment, letting the underlying billing calculations happen automatically. Built in JavaScript and MySQL and hosted on AWS, the application replaced a process that used to depend on someone catching every discrepancy manually. Billing errors dropped to nearly zero once the application removed the manual entry step that had been causing them in the first place.

Business System Integrations

Enerquality's enrollment records and its accounting system had never actually talked to each other, so builder enrollment data and billing data lived in two disconnected places someone had to reconcile by hand. Ollon built the integration layer connecting those two systems directly, so an enrollment automatically generated the correct billing record instead of requiring someone to transfer the information over separately. That connection also gave Enerquality a single source it could pull from for enrollment and billing reporting. The integration turned two isolated systems into one operational picture Enerquality could actually report from.

Managed Services and Application Monitoring

A system built for one moment in a business does not stay useful for long without someone continuing to adapt it, and Enerquality's needs kept changing after the original application launched in 2019. Ollon has maintained and enhanced the application continuously since then, adding features as Enerquality's program requirements evolved. That relationship meant new business needs got built into the existing system instead of requiring a separate project each time. Six years into an application originally scoped for one project, Enerquality is still running on the same platform because it kept pace with the business.
